The Supply Closet – After

Here’s the supply closet, all neat and orderly. YAY!

As you can see, we found a really great deal on Kleenex at the salvage store a few months ago. All of the shampoo and hair products on this shelf were free after rebate at Walgreens.

All of the unopened products on this shelf were Walgreens freebies too. Has anyone tried those energy drinks? I’m paranoid about trying them because I worry about having a heart attack or something.

Anyway, I want to share some of the cheap and free things that I used to organize this closet. I bought 6 of these plastic baskets at a garage sale last summer, for 25 cents each. I used some for organizing the kids’ art supplies, and I put the others to use here. They were handy for organizing my nebulizer supplies, and first aid supplies like gauze, ace bandages, and tape:

I didn’t have enough baskets to organize all of our stuff, so I went rummaging through the recycling bins. There, I found perfect, FREE solutions! These are plastic containers that ground beef came in. I had several, because our local grocery had a great sale on ground beef over the weekend. I ran them through the dishwasher to sanitize them, and labeled them with my labelmaker. I used them to sort and organize medications by category: first aid, cold and flu, one for each of my kids, and one for my husband and me.

This is the bottom of a cereal box. It works very well for storing small things, like floss, and small, freebie toothpaste tubes from the dentist’s office:

You know me…free is my favorite word.
