My little Bee is quite the artist.
When she was two, she won 1st place in her age division in a Wal-Mart coloring contest. This was her entry:

Her prize was a $10 Wal-Mart gift card, which she used to buy a dancing, singing, Wiggles guitar.
When she was 3, she won another coloring contest at our local video store. Her prize was a choice of movie candy and a free video rental:
When she was 4, she sent a drawing to Disney Princess magazine. They published it, along with this photo of her:
This time, her prizes were two books, and a free magazine:

Bee inherited her artistic ability from my husband. Last February his replica of “Dragula,” from the 1960s TV series “The Munsters,” won “Best Special Interest Car” at an area car show’s model car contest. His prizes were a trophy, and a choice of model kit. Bee was very enthusiastic and excited about the contest, so my husband asked if she would like to choose a model kit to build. She chose a Cadillac Escalade pickup, and over the last year, she worked diligently to get it ready for this year’s contest. My husband guided and supervised, but Bee did all of the work herself. We took pictures to document her progress:

On Saturday, we entered her pink Cadillac in the contest, in the 12 and under age division. In the display, we included photos of her working on it, because she did such a great job, and we were concerned that the judges wouldn’t believe she did it herself!

Tonight the contest winners were announced. Bee won first place in her age division (beating out 3 boys!), and she also won the People’s Choice Award for the best overall contest entry!

She won 2 trophies, and a model kit to build for next year’s contest. She also had her picture taken for the local newspaper. People kept coming up to shake her hand and congratulate her, and she was just beaming with pride! When she was deciding on a model kit, a guy asked her to please not choose the blue Chevelle. He said that he’s planning on building it himself, and he didn’t want to compete against her next year
Here she is with her finished model. I like to call it the “Girlie-mobile” (the white portion is where she put her name on the trunk with scrapbook stickers).
Way to go Bee! We’re so proud of you!
