To Answer Your Questions…

I wasn’t planning to post until after the holiday, but I received some e-mail questions, and I wanted to answer them in case anyone else wanted recipes for Thanksgiving.

First, for those who are interested in my Thanksgiving cheese ball, and orange fluff salad recipes, I’ve posted them for you. Here are the links:

I’m often asked where we got our portable kitchen island. We purchased it from ekitchenislands.com. They have a wide variety of styles and finishes, and at the time we purchased ours (3 years ago), shipping was free.

A local reader asked who my midwife is, and it occurred to me that since I had so much trouble finding a CNM here, other people are probably struggling too! If you’re looking for a midwife who does home births, and you live in my area, feel free to e-mail me for details. I’m happy to send business Kathy’s way, because she’s been wonderful!

Speaking of Kathy, I just met with her yesterday, and we got instructions for ordering our home birth supplies. It’s coming up so fast! I have another visit in 2 weeks, and after that, all of our visits will be home visits. We need to start preparing our home for the birth – cleaning, decluttering, stocking food and drinks, etc.

Which brings me to 3 prayer requests:

1) The baby is in a weird, posterior position right now, which explains the pain in my left rib cage. Kathy isn’t worried yet, but if you could all please pray for him to move, so that I can breathe and eat normally again, I would be so appreciative!

2) Please pray for me to be calm. As the birth approaches, I find that I’m not exactly scared, but I am a bit nervous.

3) Since DJ will be born at the end of January, please pray for good weather. Living on the top of this hill means that ice and snow are a problem. It will be hard to have this baby if Kathy can’t get up the hill!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
