To say that if you’re participating in my Christmas card exchange, my cards went out yesterday, so you should have them in a couple of days.
Also, tonight is my husband’s company Christmas party, and I wanted to ask, am I the only one who feels like a giant dork at stuff like that? Maybe I’m just really bad at small talk, or maybe I’m just pregnant and crabby, but I’m anticipating all kinds of comments, like, “Haven’t you had that baby yet?” and “Are you sure there isn’t two in there?”
Ugh.
The party is at a “dueling piano bar,” and I don’t even know what that is. However, my husband assures me that there will be a huge spread, including cheesecake, so I’ll just park myself by the buffet table and feed my face. Also, it is a child-free date night, which doesn’t happen very often.
On an unrelated note, my husband and I have taken to calling each other “babe,” because of this episode of “The Office.”
Those of you who watch “The Office” obsessively, and have every episode on DVD, as we do, will remember that Michael and Jan called each other “babe” repeatedly all night long, even though it was pretty obvious that they couldn’t stand each other.
We just do it because it’s hilarious. Clearly, we need to get out more.
