Update on Heather

Hello blog friends of Heather,

In the past few days, Heather thought she was coming down with something. She was right. She has been congested and short of breath in the past 24-48 hours. Last night, the situation worsened and she was having much difficulty breathing. Her temperature rose to 99.5 F. I rented a nebulizer for her last night, and she got some relief. Unfortunately, the situation worsened this morning.

A trip to the doctor revealed the need for medications to help her breathe and fight off infection. Her blood/oxygen level was still at 98 (good), however her resting pulse rate is in the mid 120s (not so good). She has no wind, no energy, and a very quiet voice that is difficult to hear. Her breathing flow meter peaks at half of normal, and fits of coughing overcome her at times. The doctor said that she should not be left unattended, in the event of an asthma attack that is beyond the aid of her rescue inhaler.

I’ve transferred my work schedule to another appraiser so that I can look after her. The doctor says that our readiness to make a trip to the hospital is of utmost importance, in the event that the situation worsens. The medications are giving her some relief, and may correct the situation within days. Until then, I’m sure you won’t be hearing much from her. Please keep her in your prayers for speedy recovery, and for little DJ to have a healthy delivery whenever the Lord sees fit.

In God’s care, Heather’s DH

“We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they are good for us – they help us learn to endure. And endurance develops strength of character in us, and character strengthens our confident expectation of salvation. And this expectation will not disappoint us. For we know how dearly God loves us, because He has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with His love”. Romans 5:3-5
