I'm thankful to live in california...82 degrees here today. Kiddos wore shorts! Really though, I feel your pain. We all do I think! Despite the stressful drive, Im actually a tiny bit jealous of the walmart trip in peace! :)Oh well... Enjoy the winter wonderland.

That snow is absolutely beautiful - I'm sure it's hard to live with, but we're all insanely jealous of that beauty you have right outside your door! Hope the girls are getting along better.... ;)

Heather as much as I feel your pain I am so happy to read this today. Last night I had the girls
( same ages as your) in the bathtub and they were fighting and yelling and making bath time miserable. And I actually thought " this is crazy how come my girls don't get along like Heathers, what is up with that they are the same ages" I was picturing all the cute pictures of your girls loving each other , big smiles and what you have written about them loving each other.
So your post today was a huge relief it must just be a stage they have to go through, if I don't lock them up before they are through it.
So if it helps you at all My girls are at the same place yours are and its really only been in the last month or 2
Of course Emily is walking around right now singing "pretty mommy" isn't' she so sweet and innocent, just ask her.

Have you considered moving here? It was a balmy 75 a couple of days ago. We are having our first real cold snap this week. It is expected to get down to 24 here Friday morning, and that is like 30 below to us!!!! My daughter has never even seen snow! LOL!

I have had that exact same thing going on at my house. My boys just seem to bicker constantly. I don't know if it because they have just been cooped up in the house so much lately or what.

Somehow we missed the large amount of snow you guys got and only received about an inch or two.

We didn't even have a delay this morning which surprised me.

LOL Heather :) I'm rolling. Not that I don't sypathize with you, it's just hillarious that you put into words what I feel most days. With having 4 kids from preteen down to the learning to assert himself 2 1/2 year old I truly understand your plight. This season of the year makes it difficult being stuck inside most days. We do not have snow lately but our temperatures are close to ZERO. The older 2 are in school and I will take the 4 year old to preschool but 2 1/2 hours doesn't give much of a break. Right now the little ones are screaming at each other about who gets to be the "cat" and sit in the cat bed. Just what I need, two really hairy toddlers!! God bless. Tina

When my girls were little and they fought I would make them hug each other and make them say they loved each other. Sincerely! They HATED it. It would get to the point they would not fight to avoid having to go through all that. (Yes, I am a genius!) They are 24 and 19 now and live on their own. I still threaten to make them hug when they get into a spat!

Oh man I hear ya. The school days with Little Guy are so peaceful until his sister comes home and then it's war. You'd think since there are 3 years between them it wouldn't be like that. Sigh.
At least part of the time they play well together and hug and are sweet. I wish there were more times like that. My favorite is when they lay next to each other and have little conversations. Of course, that only lasts a minute or two until they start fighting over pillows, blankets, stuffed animals, or whatever is handy. My Mom always tells me to enjoy it because it will be over before you know it but it's hard to enjoy it when they are hitting and Do time outs work for your girls?
I'm glad you made it home safely with groceries. Now you really don't have to go anywhere. Have you tried making sugar snow with the girls? I wish it would snow here so we could try it. Big Girl and I are reading Little House so I know she's looking forward to doing that when it snows.

Just a warning...if Caksie is anything like my youngest (and she sounds like she is) you're gonna have some real "fun" when she gets to be a teenager!! :) Love from a former stay at home mom

I feel so sorry for you! I would gladly trade houses with you for a while so you could enjoy our "winter" with no snow, but you probably couldn't drive down here now because of the weather. I hope there is school tomorrow.
