I agree - it's all a bit scary. I've heard varying stories as well - some have brought their bottles in for exchanges while others got store credit. Luckily, like Amanda, we've used the drop-ins which are supposed to be safe.

My husband does cancer research...I should have a chat with him and see what he thinks of all this...You'd think I'd have done that already!!

I'm kinda like you, in that I'm not sure how I feel about BPA. On one hand, I feel like every time we turn around, there's something else that poisonious or bad for us, and people are probably over-reacting to this. At the same time, the fact that Canda has banned it from baby bottles certainly says something to me.

Fortunately, we have always used Playtex Dropins, so terms of baby bottles, I don't need to worry about that, but I have been looking for BPA-free water bottle for myself. Of course, I'm cheap, and can't rationalize spending $15+ on a water bottle. I did manage to find a Rubbermaid bottle, #5 plastic, that I've settled for. #7 is the worst offender, and #5 is questionable, but from what I've read, as long as I don't heat it, I should be okay.

*Sigh* If it's not one thing, it's another.

Knowing I have chemical poisoning I went and checked our water bottles. No less than 5 of them are #7 -- my favorite, well used one being in that group. But, when I was diagnosed I went to the local health food place and bought a stainless steel water bottle. Expensive!! Stupid expensive. But that's what I've been using. Next year there will be a study telling me why that's no good either. But you just can't use glass for EVERYTHING!
