Hi Heather, just read your blog for the first time. I really enjoyed reading it.

I actually ran across this, because I was looking up Christian stay at home moms. I just put my 2 weeks in at work so that I can stay home with my two boys. I can't wait! I also love to write and had planned on starting a blog similar to yours. I will definitely keep up on yours! I just really admire families who totally understand what it means to put God and family first! Good luck with your upcoming new arrival!

I loved the mesh pants! They were so compfy! All i can say about the extra milk is BE THANKFUL! My sister had twins and she could not produce enough milk to even feed one let alone too! So you can imagine what they pay a month in formula! I was unab;e to nurse as well and it it so expenise! So be thankful you have enough, more then enough.

I am so excited for you! Don't know if I told you but I am apprenticing with a midwife now. It is the most amazing thing and for once I know I'm right where God wants me.

Ask Kathy about using sage to dry up the excess milk. I know there are some other things but that comes to mind.

I actually washed my mesh panties and used them for a couple weeks. I loved those things. Who know, they could become a trend one day. And that herb bath is the most incredible thing. It helps the cord fall off in 2-3 days and soothes all the soreness from 'down there.' I want to have an other baby just to try it! (Oh wait, I want an other baby anyways...)

If you have any history of bleeding too much the midwife I'm working with recently discovered an herb called yunna baiyao. It is amazing stuff. You may want to tell Kathy about it just so she knows. It stops too much bleeding in seconds.

Mmmm...mesh undies. The good old days come rushing back. I loved the chucks that the hospital gave me. So nice to have a stash of those. Now I steal my dad's. Nice, huh?

Just a note. I actually tried halved maxi pads and had milk seep out the cut ends. I think the success of the Lansinoh pads is the plastic barrier.

I don't know if it would work for you, but I donated my overflow to La Leche Milk Bank. It killed me to throw bags and bags of breast milk away, but I produced about 3 times what any of my kids could eat!

If you sew, making breast pads is SUPER easy. I made a bunch after my last baby was born, and although they don't lie as smooth as the store bought ones, they work just as well.

I too have a crazy milk supply, and woke up in puddles at night. I work part-time with B-3 kids, and when they would cry or fuss, it would make my milk let down... uugh! I'd have to bring changes of clothes between each kid.

Michelle, the underpants are made of thin cotton mesh, and are intended to be disposable. You just wear them to hold your sanitary napkins, so your regular underpants don't get ruined.

They are hideous - but very comfortable!

Yeah! I'm so excited for you! I absolutely love all the Lansinoh products...couldn't have breast-fed without them! (and of course I have a fond memory of the mesh underpants...how can we ever forget that experience?)
