I am the first person in my family to be married (the oldest child), and we both felt it was important to have a wedding where family could attend.<br />Our entire wedding, including the church, marriage certificate, food for 50 people, DJ, my dress, his tux, outfits for the kids (we had 2 pre-marriage, I made ALL the wedding flowers, my mom made our three tiered cake: was $3,500.<br />Hubby and I did not even plan a honeymoon, we felt the wedding was more important. My mother and brother pitched in a got us a three night stay at the beach, a week after our wedding. <br />Family took photos, and video.<br />Just so people know, there are ways to host a wedding and reception without going broke. <br />It was all paid for with cash, too. You both look so happy. My husband and I also had a simple happy wedding. We were married 14 years ago with simple gold bands. We had a frugal wedding too but had a ton of people (I didn't know most of them) and I didn't enjoy it as much as I should have.
